How can you help?
No matter where you are located in the world, there are animals nearby that need your help. Here are some ways you can make a BIG, immediate difference!
1. Spay and neuter your pets! Animal overpopulation is an enormous problem that leads to many homeless animals. Together, we can fix this problem!
2. Contact your local animal shelter and ask what they need and donate items such as food, blankets, cleaning supplies, towels, etc. You don't even have to go to a store. Just order something online and have it delivered to the shelter!
3. Volunteer at a shelter--lots of shelters need help with things like bathing and feeding animals. Or just go give animals some love!
4. Never turn a blind eye to a stray animal. Call an animal shelter and ask them to help. Even better, take the animal to the shelter or keep him/her as a pet! Try not to chase animals you try to rescue. Keep treats in your car and gently try to lure them in.
5. Do not keep your pets chained! Animals deserve to be treated like a member of the family. Do not have animals if you cannot treat them as they deserve to be treated. If they must be outside in a fenced-in yard, provide a weather-proof shelter for them, plenty of food and water, and most importantly, visits and love throughout each day.
6. Bring pets in during times of extreme weather. Their fur coats are not enough to keep most breeds warm during the winter, and they can overheat and become dehydrated during hot months.
7. Foster animals in your home. Your local shelter can tell you how.
8. ADOPT animals! Encourage your friends and family members to do so as well.
9. Educate others on the harmfulness of breeding. There are far too many homeless animals already. Breeding only increases the numbers.
10. Share information on social media, such as pets that are open for adoption, pictures of lost pets, etc.
11. Be kind to all animals. All they want is to love and be loved.
Thank you for your help!
Remember, even small gestures make a huge difference in the life of a sweet little animal.
